From storage to additional seating, any sized home will love the versatility a kitchen island offers.
One of the many benefits of the the kitchen island “is that it can act as an informal dining area as well as additional seating when you are entertaining” says Neal Hauschild, owner of Nth Degree Companies.
Just keep in mind the scale of your kitchen. For larger kitchens the ability to add preparation sinks, refrigerator drawers, and additional cooking area is a way to make your kitchen more functional and useful. For smaller kitchens, remember that passageways through the kitchen should be at least 36 inches wide. In work areas, walkways should be at least 42 inches wide.
