Welcome to Gahanna
A community-driven town known for lush greenery and scenic trails
Just eight miles away from downtown Columbus, Gahanna is a thriving suburban town. Gahanna’s community is very tight-knit, hosting a variety of neighborhood gatherings and volunteer opportunities throughout the year. The name Gahanna is derived from the Native American word for “three creeks joining into one,” a testament to Gahanna’s location next to incredible creeks like the Big Walnut Creek.
There are all kinds of homes available in Gahanna, ranging from large estates, single-family homes, townhouses, and condominiums. Given Gahanna’s history dating back to 1849, many of the homes in this town have more traditional designs. They are inspired by the Colonial symmetry of windows and doors, as well as Tudor pitched roofs and decorative brickwork. Yet, Gahanna has modernized in the past couple of decades as well, so there are plenty of Contemporary-styled homes.
