Old Hilliard, New Perspective

All aboard, train enthusiasts! Old Hilliard was once a train station on the Piqua and Indiana Railroad, an epicenter for the transport of agricultural goods and farm equipment. This history has been preserved where Old Hilliard now sports a recreated Historic Village, which features a refurbished train station, a caboose and other train-esque landmarks. There is even a mural made by local Ohio artist, Curtis Goldstein.

Home to local breweries, diners, international flavor, and chain restaurants, Hilliard is a place where every foodie can get their fix. Start your day at Coffee Connections in Old Hilliard for a smoothie or a fresh-roasted espresso before heading to work. For lunch, consider Legacy Smokehouse, which is the closest authentic Texas BBQ you’ll get. After work, join your colleagues or your significant other for craft beer at The Crooked Can.

Bored in Suburbia? Not in Hilliard.

There is something for everyone to enjoy in Hilliard, whether you are on a “treat yourself” shopping experience or a family-friendly excursion. If you are in the mood to shop, The Mall at Tuttle Crossing is for you. Located 3.8 miles from Hilliard, Tuttle Crossing includes stores like Macy’s, Buckle, Pandora, and Pottery Barn. There are countless food court options and dine-in restaurants.

Hilliard is home to Aquarium Adventures, a brand-new world to explore with 50 aquariums, 1,000 species of fish, 20,000 gallons of water, and one central indoor fish pond. If fish aren’t your thing, head over to Aquatic Adventures, where you can learn how to scuba dive. If water isn’t your thing in general, head over to the Early Television Museum, where you can explore “the invention and technology of the television, old cameras, and a mobile production van in the nation’s only television devoted museum.”

Outdoor Experiences to Remember and Recreate

First Responders Park in Old Hilliard serves as a place of remembrance to those who sacrificed everything on September 11th. This park is one of the largest 9/11 memorials, featuring two steel beams from the original World Trade Center.

Metro Park is 44 acres of quiet, rural atmosphere with a covered bridge, train station replica and two barns. Additional amenities include picnic shelters, a 2 and ½ acre fishing pond, playgrounds, and a three-quarter mile trail for walking, biking, or running with your leashed dogs.
